E-signature: sign a PDF
Draw or type your signature, place it on a PDF and download the signed copy. Done in your browser — the document is never uploaded.
Before you sign
- This adds a simple electronic signature: a picture of your signature on the page. It does not check who you are, add a certificate or keep an audit trail, and the PDF can still be edited afterwards.
- Under UK and EU law (the Electronic Communications Act 2000 and eIDAS) a simple electronic signature can be valid, but some documents need more — for example deeds that must be witnessed, some property and court documents, or anything that asks for an "advanced" or "qualified" signature. If in doubt, ask the other party or a solicitor.
- Only sign a document you are entitled to sign, as yourself or with authority for the business you name. Signing for someone else without their authority can be fraud.
- We never see the document or your signature: both stay on this page and are gone when you close it. We keep no copy, so keep your own.
